This is a beautiful and rare retractable tape measure from Singer.  Based on the logo, material and mechanics of the tape measure, this one was likely produced in the 1950s after the more common .  It retracts with an internal spring just like a regular carpenter's tape measure.  This is without a doubt - a rare find in fantastic condition!
